How It Began Chapter 5 - Inhuman WorksAnn stopped. Her hands dropped and her eyes became laced with fear. Naomi rushed over to her and clasped her hand. Sarah marched up to Ann and grabbed her arms. Seth held his daughter tightly.
"What are doing?" Naomi glared.
"Taking Ann away!" Sarah sneered.
"No! You can't! You already took away what was most important to her, why are you taking her away from me!?" Naomi shrieked as she struggled to break out of her fathers grasp.
"I will not let you be turned into a half-demon, Naomi!" Seth yelled.
"What do you care?!" Naomi whipped around, breaking out of Seth's grasp. "All you've ever done since Mom died is work! Ever since that day when I met Ann, I haven't been so lonely anymore! And, I've had someone to rely on, and she's not even related to me! Yet the you're related to me, and you don't care at all!"
"That's not true! Never, when I got the scar from Sarah or Ann, did you ask or care! You don't care, you don't, you don't, you don't!" By t
How It Began Chapter 4 - A (Snap) Decision"I can't stand it." Naomi's father spoke in a slow, deliberate tone.
"What?" Sarah looked slightly amused.
"Ann and Naomi, they, they just..." He trailed off, unable to describe his thoughts.
"Seem suspicious, my lord?"
"Especially Ann. I thought it was odd when Naomi dragged her into the shop, telling me that she was going to be serving her - no charge. Do not misunderstand me, she does good work, but she seems...off." He groaned. "It's like, she's a demon or something."
"My lord, excuse me, but you just noticed?" Sarah snorted. "Shouldn't you be able to tell the best, since you are one?" His eyes flared, briefly becoming a striking yellow. Sarah waved this off. She wasn't afraid, since she could easily calm him... But it didn't stop her from her from having some fear.
"Sarah. Naomi... Do not turn her into a demon. I know what you did to Ann, though, even though Ann doesn't recognize you." He glared darkly at her, trying to make his point very clear.
How It Began Chapter 3 - A Hair ArangementNaomi leaned on the red couch. For her fifteenth birthday, she had wanted to bleach her hair, but everyone was against it, even Ann. Which was surpising, since Ann mainly agreed with what Naomi was doing. The teen sighed, kicking her feet over the edge of her couch. With her book resting on her lap, for her lack of interest in it, she was bored.
Running a hand through her dark hair, she opted sneaking out of the house to get her hair bleached and dyed. But, anyone would recognize her, after all, she went out of her way to go with Ann on her errands, after that incident with Sarah. Naomi was that paranoid about that. Of course she had her revenge, but that was a different story. Thankfully, she had never gotten in trouble for that one, since Ann was in on it... Another story.
So, Naomi decided to sneak out later, after bedtime. Her father was strict, saying bed was at seven, but Naomi, who could not care less about rules, stayed up, ranging from nine to twelve.
How It Began Chapter 2 - A(n) (Un)Breakable BondThe doll sat in the corner of Naomi's room. It was gathering dust, and a pale coat dulled the once vibrant fabric and porcelain. When Naomi passed it, she could swear it was frowning at her.
"Ann!” Her voice rang out clear and shrill in the corridor.
"Yeah?" Ann peered around the corner, and Naomi stood with her petite arms crossed in the middle of the hallway.
"I asked you to help me clean my room almost an hour ago! What have you been doing?" The ten-year-old wasn't happy.
"I'm not only your maid, I work for your father as well!"
"He has Sarah! Why'd he need you?" Ann looked around, and when she was sure the coast was clear, shouted back to Naomi.
"Because unlike that misreable wentch he likes to call a maid, I can actually do something progressive, like cook and clean! I do not injure my employers and get away with it! Plus, my food actually tastes decent!"
"That's true, but I need help! I got the bottom half of my room done, I just can't dust the higher parts!"
How It Began Chapter 1 - The MeetingNaomi was bored. Father was talking to another man, with salt and pepper hair, a crisp brown suit, and a ridiculously large mustache about business. Naomi sat around, wandering throughout the small shop, looking at strange relics and knick-knacks. She paused at a doll, with blue eyes, brown hair, and ivory skin. She wore a green dress, complete with a sun umbrella, a bow in her hair, and a smile on her face.
Stretching her small, thin fingers above her head, she reached for the doll. To her displeasure, she couldn't reach. So she dragged a rocking chair, with much effort, over to the large cabinet. Clambering atop it, on her tip-toes, she could just about reach when her footing slipped, and,
"Woah!" Letting out a high pitched squeal, Naomi squeezed her eyes shut and waited for the impact of her body against the hardwood floor. It never happened, due to when she unclenched her eyes, her small body was in the arms of a tall, pale, milk chocolate-haired brunette. With the most amazi
The KeyThis particular key wasn't hidden, it was just out of sight. See, it was out of sight ever since she died. Understand, he only went into the room that belonged to the key when he felt especially weak.
He took the bronze key from above the doorway, and with hesitation, slid it into the lock. It was decorated with a fraying blue ribbon. It was frightening, to open the door. To be allowed to remember all those memories that he wanted to forget, but would never be able to forget. Because you never forget your true love.
The door creaked open, a musty smell hit the air, along with the faint, almost irrecognizable lavender taint.
It was a pale, eggshell blue color, with the dark wood floors making a deep contrast. White furniture furnishing the room. The four-post bed was not made, the way she left it the morning she died. Everything was left the way it was that day.
Drawers to the dresser half open and closed. The curtains tucked behind the bo
